Project Decay

Nine months on Ilya Cascad’s first backpiece, grown onto one body instead of printed onto it.

The piece is called Emergence, tattooed on Evgeny Vasenev. Ornament, biomechanics and surrealism in a single composition, drawn to follow his muscle and bone rather than transferred off a page. Ilya calls the whole thing an ongoing experiment.

I documented it from September to May. The backpiece is done; the project he named after it is still running.
